Volunteer
Before you begin Volunteering with Just ASK there are a few essential steps to complete to get you started:

Children First Training
All volunteers must complete the Children First E-Learning Programme provided by Tusla.
This free online course takes about 90 minutes and is a legal requirement for anyone working with children in Ireland. It covers key policies and procedures to ensure child safety and protection.

Garda Vetting
Garda Vetting is also mandatory for all volunteers. Relevant forms are available from Just ASK.
Important: Please do not send forms directly to the National Garda Vetting Bureau. They must be returned and signed by Just ASK first—we’ll then submit them for you. This process helps ensure a safe environment for the children and is a legal requirement when working with vulnerable groups.

Children In Our Care
We’ll invite you to attend a ‘Children in Our Care’ training evening (date to be confirmed).
This session will explore some of the unique challenges faced by the young people we support and how we work together to provide a safe, respectful, and positive environment for everyone involved. It’s also a great chance to meet other volunteers and learn more about our approach to child safety, managing behaviour, and building trust.
